The six shooters who will compete in the final of the Men's Trap were decided today after the completion of the qualification rounds.
Athens 2004 gold medalist Alexey Alipov of Russia qualified in first place after hitting a total of 121 targets.
The other five qualifiers are the Czech Republic's David Kostelecky, Erminio Frasca and Giovanni Pellielo of Italy, Michael Diamond of Australia and Josip Glasnovic of Croatia.
Diamond, who has won two Olympic gold medals in the event, scraped into the final after taking part in a shoot-off against Glasnovic and German Karsten Bindrich.
At the end of the qualification rounds, the three shooters were tied at 119 targets apiece. Diamond and Glasnovic qualified for the final after both hit three targets compared to Bindrich's two.
The final of the Men's Trap will be held today at 3 p.m. local time 12 (UTC/GMT +8).
